Latin urban music’s old and new schools unite in historic fashion for “Ganas de Ti” (Desiring You), the new single and video by the legendary Puerto Rican duo Wisin y Yandel with the youthful Panamanian star Sech, available today via Sony Music Latin from all digital-music outlets.
“Ganas de Ti” mixes Sech’s romantic flow with the signature lyrics and rhythms of Wisin y Yandel, creating a vibrant fusion of sounds that takes reggaetón in a new direction. The song is written by Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin), Llandel Veguilla Malavé (Yandel), José Ángel Torres Castro, Carlos Isaías Mejías Williams (Sech), Urbani Mota Cedeño, and Luis Jorge Romero. Its pulsating chorus, dedicated to an unforgettable woman, will catch on quickly: “Tengo ganas de ti, tengo ganas de amarte, desde que te perdi solo pienso en besarte…” (I’m desiring you, I yearn to love you, ever since I lost you I only think about kissing you.) Both artists let their distinctive styles shine on this track, giving it a double dose of rhythmic and lyrical brilliance that will make it a hit among fans and in the clubs.
The music video premieres at 6 p.m. ET today on YouTube. Directed by Jessy Terrero, it features Sech in a starring role, along with flashbacks to a childhood where he and his partner grew up sharing moments together. When she breaks away from him, he lets her know how much he misses her as he sings the title line. With an engaging backstory, this video keeps us hooked throughout. It also displays creative shots and captivating scenery, filmed on location in New York.
