SBS Entertainment and LaMusica announced today the return of CALIBASH – the crown jewel of live Latin music – at the iconic Staples Arena in Los Angeles.
This historic event will celebrate its 15th anniversary with three back-to -back concerts on January 14, 15 and 16, 2022, and will feature an unbelievable line-up of Megastars including Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Wisin & Yandel, Natti Natasha, Becky G, Myke Towers, Sech, Natanael Cano, Rauw Alejandro, Manuel Turizo, Lunay, Kali Uchis, the Black Eyed Peas, Jhay Cortez, Justin Quiles and Nio Garcia, among other world-renowned artists and celebrity guest performances.
“Calibash is the iconic live concert event of the year for Latin music fans from around the globe,” stated Alessandra Alarcón, President of SBS Entertainment.
“While we’ve been able to keep our audiences connected to the artists they love through our audio and virtual concert performances during the pandemic, we are now ready to bring back a COVID-SAFE CALIBASH 2022 – three nights of unforgettable immersive experiences and heart-stopping surprises and, most importantly, an affirmation and unrivaled celebration of life, music, culture, diversity and the resiliency of our people!”
A pre-pandemic Calibash 2020 dominated Billboard magazine’s Top U.S. Concert Promoter‘s List as one of the highest grossing events in the nation, alongside ticketed performances by Elton John, Madonna and Celine Dion.
Calibash’s historically SOLD-OUT attendance and its global reach via the SBS audio platform, the LaMusica app and LA’s KXOL-FM have made it one of the most acclaimed musical events in Southern California history.
On the heels of SBS’s virtual upfront “It Happens Here!”, the announcement of CALIBASH 2022 has sparked new speculation as to what surprise headlines are in store during the three concert dates as has happened in past years when J-Lo first met Bad Bunny, or when Justin Bieber joined J Balvin for an impromptu set, or when Snoop Dogg, LeBron James and Kylie Jenner all showed up backstage. One thing’s for certain: the anticipation of the fans could not be greater!
Commenting on what audiences can expect at CALIBASH 2022, Alarcón added, “We’re ready to rise up from the heartbreaking loss of the last two years and, through the power of music, inspire the world to heal and come back even stronger! We will do this together and we will do it in a big way!”
In addition to the three live shows, the CALIBASH experience will generate buzz and excitement through a robust multimedia campaign promoted on the various SBS platforms – including Pre, Live and Post-Event content available exclusively on all SBS radio outlets as well as the LaMusica app and Mega TV.
