Latido Music’s New TV Series Takes a Deep Dive into Music Artists’ Beginnings

The first episode features the untold story from the Queen of Reggaeton, Ivy Queen, through a series of interview clips and animated segments, bringing light to the legendary artist’s early beginnings.

El Principio, a new series that takes audiences on a journey through the early beginnings of legendary music stars careers, is part of Latido Music’s new original content programming which premieres today and is available to all Latin music fans.

El Principio portraits iconic Latin recording artists making references to their beginnings, including anecdotes never told before. The first episode, which premieres today at 6pm EST on Latido Music, features the Queen of Reggaeton and Puerto Rican music pioneer, Ivy Queen. In the episode, she narrates how difficult it was for a female artist in the genre’s earlier years to pursue a career as a Reggaeton singer and how the genre has evolved.

Fans will also have the opportunity to access the pilot episode made prior to today’s official launch, featuring Chilean singer-songwriter Beto Cuevas, lead singer of the iconic Latin Rock band La Ley. Other featured artists who will be premiering new episodes in this novel project are Puerto Rican reggae band Cultura Profética and Argentine singer-songwriter Kevin Johansen. New episodes will be released every month, and can be seen on the Latido Music channel via connected TV (Samsung TV Plus, TIVO, Vizio and Xumo), as well as Apple TV, Roku, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV.

Earlier this month Latido Music premiered a new artist VJ series, MixTape, featuring Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Calma Carmona. The 1-hour episodes will feature Latin artists sharing with fans their favorite video playlists. New episodes of the series will feature Providencia (July 21st), Yannc (July 28th) and Los Rivera Destino (August 4th). Each episode will air every Tuesday at 6:00PM EST.
