The tour kicks off on September 8 at the Olympia Theatre in Montreal, Canada
After successful performances in Europe and Ecuador, the global music icon and multiple GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® winner, Carlos Vives, announces his highly-anticipated return to U.S. and Canada soil with his “Después de todo…Vives” worldwide tour, which has added SOLD OUT shows in San José (California) on September 23, as well Chicago and Washington D.C.
With the reopening of concert venues around the world post-pandemic, Carlos Vives was one of the first Latin artists to return to major U.S. stages, securing two sold out shows in Miami and Orlando in 2021. However, at the beginning of 2022, a leg of his tour had to be postponed due to a new wave of COVID-19 cases, which now returns stronger than ever at the heels of his most recent release, a musical journey known as Cumbiana II.
Presented by the entertainment, marketing and media company, Loud And Live, Carlos Vives’ long-awaited tour will visit key cities in the U.S. and Canada. The tour kicks off in Montreal, Canada, on September 8 at the Olympia Theater and will culminate in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on October 15 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
Vives promises to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to fans, just as they’ve always been accustomed to when seeing Vives’ live. Without a doubt, it will be a show filled with joy and the overflowing excitement that’s always been a trademark of Vives’ shows.
Recently, the Colombian icon announced his return to the stage in his native country of Colombia with two incredible nights on October 21 and 22 at the iconic Movistar Arena in Bogotá, where he will take audiences on a journey by way of his most iconic hits, including those featured on his Latin GRAMMY® winning album Cumbiana I and his most recent Cumbiana II.
Released in early 2022, Cumbiana II is the second album that emerged from the expansive and unprecedented exploration by Carlos Vives to make modern music from the percussive and melodic sounds of ancient Colombia. The sounds represent the origin and the evolution of cumbia, as well as the convergence of rhythms and cultures that he defines symbolically as «everything we are.» The albums features one-of-a-kind collaborations, including “Baloncito Viejo” with Camilo, “Babel” with Argentine legend Fito Páez, “El Teke Teke” with Black-Eyed Peas and Play-N-Skillz and «Pagamento» with Pedro Capó, among others. Vives most recently released the music video for “Pagamento” with Pedro Capó, where both artists celebrate the natural beauty of their respective countries, Colombia and Puerto Rico. Also, Carlos Vives joined forces with Los Angeles Azules to launch «Cumbia del Corazón,» which is currently leading radio charts.
Most recently, Vives received nominations for the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2022 in the categories for “Tropical Artist of the Year – Solo” and “Tropical Album of the Year” for Cumbiana II.
