The new single is one of the main tracks for the Telenovela “Quererlo Todo”
which premiered on Monday, November 9 on Televisa (Mexico)
One of the fresh voices of the new genre in latin music, Ingrid Contreras premieres her new single and music video for “A quien quiero engañar.” The new single, released under the label “Showbusiness” forms part of the telenovela “Quererlo Todo” which premiered Monday, November 9th through Televisa (Mexico). The new single is now available on all digital music platforms.
“A quien quiero engañar” is an original song by Poncho Arocha, composer of «Fue lo mejor” (Ingrid’s previous single). This Regional Mexican song shows another facet of the Mexican artist, who for the very first time has the opportunity to have one of her singles featuring in a telenovela. Produced by Nacho Sada, the telenovela tells the story of a forbidden love through a series of secrets and twists & turns surrounding an inheritance.
With the profound voice that characterizes the mexican singer-songwriter, Ingrid continues to demonstrate women empowerment. Through this single, she is letting the person who left her know that although she may be incomplete, she will never display her weakness, although she may be lying to herself while doing it. “A quien quiero engañar si me siento tan sola y te muestro otra cara, si me abrazo del viento besando tu almohada, voy a procurar maquillar mi dolor y sentirme una dama, ya no va a importarme si el corazón me reclama”, says part of the single that forms part of the telenovela which touches on the subject of gender violence, which also happens to be one of the main causes that Ingrid supports.
Released along with the single, the music video was directed by Héctor Toro and was filmed in a “hacienda” or estate, in Jalisco, Mexico. The video, co-directed by Ingrid Contreras, can be viewed through Ingrid Contreras’s YouTube channel.
A few months ago, Ingrid Contreras revolutionized the music industry with her single “Fue Lo Mejor”, which focused on the topic of psychological abuse and gender violence. From that moment on, Ingrid became the voice for women around the world who have experienced a similar situation. Later on, she united with one of the most iconic voices in Puerto Rican merengue, Melina León, who has always stood out for women empowerment through her lyrics and launched a new version of “Fue Lo Mejor”.
