Global Music Icon, Daddy Yankee continues dominating the world’s top charts. This time, leading music platform YouTube has unveiled their top music videos of the year. “Con calma” feat Snow took the No. 1 position in the Top Music Global Videos. (it ranked No. 10 in the U.S.)
The year-end statistics consider a common trend that reports Latin music’s popularity on the well-claimed music video platform YouTube. Yankee also holds the Top Music Videos Global, #4 with “China”, in collaboration with Karol G, Anuel AA, Ozuna and J Balvin.
As the popularity of Latin music continues to grow on YouTube, the numbers don’t lie. Seven of the Top 10 music videos on YouTube this year are lead by Latin artists, leading #1 is Daddy Yankee and Snow’s “Con Calma”.
DY is behind some of the hottest tracks of all time, including “Dura”, “Shaky Shaky” and “Despacito.” Fusing his reggaeton essence with global sounds, Yankee has found the perfect recipe to get the whole world moving on their feet. The #ConCalmaChallenge and #QTPChallenge on social media are the live proof of that.
The top-ranked single “Con Calma” which shows a diverse crowd dancing, including a playful emoji busting a move has surpassed 1.6 billion views on YouTube since its release earlier this year in January.
The «Big Boss» made history on late-night television. Yankee performed “Con Calma” on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” becoming the first act to perform in Spanish on the late-night talk show.
Year after year, the «Big Boss” has demonstrated why he leads the charts with his most viral videos.
